Ocean House – Opening September 2027

Our fourth Kindergarten, the Ocean House, will open at Heidelberg Innovation Park in September 2027.

​

• January–February: Applications

• March–May: Application processing, interviews & trial days

• Offers sent between May and June

• June–July: Finalize positions & contracts

• August–September: Position starts

 

Please apply during the January–February application period. Candidates requiring qualification recognition, visa arrangements, or other documentation should allow additional time.

 

What we're looking for...

Before applying, please review the following requirements:

• Experience: At least 1 year of Kindergarten/experience with ages 0-6 — required for all positions.

• Language Requirements: C1 English, or German native speakers with at least B2 English

• Shown preference: Native English speakers with German skills

• Positions: Full-time and part-time

 

Lead & Co-Teachers (Full-Time)

37.5–39.5 hours/week

For qualified and recognized pädagogische Fachkräfte with at least 1 year of Kindergarten experience.

Assistants (Part-Time)

25–35 hours/week

For candidates without a recognized pädagogische qualification, but with at least 1 year of Kindergarten experience or similar experience with ages 0-6.

To start at the beginning of the school year, you must secure a school placement before applying to us. Applications outside of the following timeline will not be accepted or even reviewed.

Required Timeline:

• January–March: Secure school placement & apply

• May–June: Interview, trial day, finalize contracts & documentation

• September: Start position

 

School placement is the applicant's responsibility. Apply to schools as early as possible, as places may fill before our hiring period.

Praktikum & Volunteer Opportunities (unpaid)

When applying for a Praktikum or volunteer position, please include:

• Purpose: Why you are applying / what the Praktikum or volunteering is for

• Duration: Start and end dates or total length

• Days: Specific days you are available

• Hours: Hours per day or requested weekly hours
