A charming hidden gem, where curiosity runs wild.
Safari House is a charming Altbau, full of character, beautiful architecture, and a cozy atmosphere. Opened in 2008, it was one of our original locations and has been a recognizable part of the Neuenheim community for many years.
With the forest and Philosophenweg just a short walk away, the neighborhood itself becomes part of what makes Safari House special, giving children plenty of opportunities to explore, move, and discover the outdoors.
Movement and outdoor experiences are an important part of everyday life at Safari House. We work with the Felix Neureuther Foundation through the “Beweg dich schlau!” program, with specially trained educators bringing movement, coordination, and playful physical activities into the kindergarten day. Our annual Bike Day is always a favorite, giving children the chance to practice their skills, get moving, and enjoy being outside together.
Safari House is also a place where the whole community comes together. Our end-of-year picnic is a much-loved tradition, bringing children, families, and educators together to celebrate the year and spend time together outside.
Safari House accepts children aged 2-6 years old. Apply now!
The Safari Team
The Safari House team is a welcoming and dedicated group of educators who bring warmth, experience, and positive energy to everyday life at the House. With a calm, caring, and dependable presence, they create an environment where children can feel secure, comfortable, and free to be themselves.
The teachers place great importance on building strong relationships with the children and being there for them through all the little moments of the day. Whether they are helping a child through a new experience, joining in their play, or simply taking the time to listen, they bring patience and genuine care to their work.
NewLi is very fortunate to have such a committed team at Safari House. We are grateful for the warmth, consistency, and care they bring to the children and families each day.
Dina Fichtner, House Leader
Dina Fichtner leads Safari House with a strong focus on relationships, teamwork, and creating an environment where children and educators feel safe, valued, and heard. She holds a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and an additional qualification in child protection as an “Insofern erfahrene Fachkraft.” With eight years of experience in early childhood education and more than four years back with NewLi, she brings both experience and a strong understanding of our community to her role.
Dina believes children are capable, curious individuals who develop at their own pace. She works with her team to create inviting environments where children feel secure enough to explore, learn, and discover what they can do. Her approach is centered around observing, listening, guiding, and encouraging children rather than deciding for them what their learning should look like.
As a leader, Dina puts a strong emphasis on building a team that works together toward the same goal. She wants educators to feel trusted and supported, while working together to create a safe and nurturing environment for the children. She particularly enjoys seeing children’s personalities unfold, building strong relationships with families, and supporting her team in their everyday work.
Her areas of particular experience include language development and multilingualism, mutism and speech delays, forest pedagogy, children’s sexual development and education, and supporting children through grief.
