A little corner of the Arctic, right in the heart of Neuenheim.

Arctic House is a bright, open space designed to give children plenty of room to move, create, and explore. The modernised building has open floor areas, lots of natural light, and a lovely garden where children can play and spend time outdoors. One of the garden favourites is our large basket swing, where several children can climb in together, making it a natural place for play and connection.

Their Atelier is a dedicated space for creativity, experimentation, and hands-on learning. Children can work with different materials, make things with their own hands, and explore where their ideas take them.

Our Small Hands, Big Impact sustainability project is woven into everyday life at Arctic House. Through simple activities such as reusing materials, planting, swapping books, reducing waste, and caring for nature, children learn that small actions can make a difference. The Atelier is an important part of this, with recycled and self-made materials becoming part of what children create and explore.

Arctic House accepts children aged 1-6 years old. Apply now!

The Arctic Team

The Arctic House team brings a friendly and caring approach to their work, with a strong focus on creating a warm and secure environment where children feel comfortable, supported, and at home. They understand how important the atmosphere around children can be and take care to create a space where children know what to expect, feel listened to, and have the freedom to explore at their own pace.

The teachers pay attention to the little details that help make everyday life feel safe and familiar, from the way they welcome children each morning to the way they respond to their individual needs throughout the day. Their calm and thoughtful presence helps children build trust in their surroundings and the people around them, giving them a strong foundation from which to explore, play, and grow.

It is this sense of warmth, familiarity, and care that makes Arctic House such a special place for children and families. We feel very lucky to have a team that so reliably dedicate themselves to the children in their care.

Shirin Nahed, House Leader

Arctic House is led by Shirin Nahed, a qualified Early Childhood Educator with many years of experience in early childhood education. She has spent five years as a kindergarten leader with NewLi. She places strong value on relationships, open communication, and teamwork, and works closely with her team to create an environment where children and educators feel safe, valued, and confident to explore.

Her leadership is centred around giving educators the space to bring their own ideas, while working together around a shared child-centred approach. She encourages her team to follow children’s interests, create opportunities for curiosity and independence, and turn everyday moments into meaningful learning experiences.

Shirin dedicates time to creating unique and thoughtful experiences through special events and projects that bring her kindergarten community closer together and create a strong sense of identity for the NewLi Arctic House. Her Flea Market is a hit event!

For her, one of the most rewarding parts of leading a kindergarten is seeing the children grow, discover their strengths, and learn from one another.
